From the desk of the Grand Knight

Dear Brother Knights,

October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, a devotion that draws us deeper into the life, suffering, death, and Resurrection of our Lord through the eyes of His Blessed Mother. As Knights, we are called not only to pray, but to allow that prayer to shape our lives. Let us renew our devotion to the Rosary, trusting Mary to lead us ever closer to her Son.

Brothers, prayer must bear fruit in our daily lives. As we meditate on the mysteries of Christ, let us examine how faithfully we serve Him in our homes, our parish, our Council, and our communities. Let us actively seek opportunities to volunteer, serve those in need, and put our faith into action. Christ calls us to “cast out into the deep” (Luke 5:4), moving beyond our comfort zones and trusting Him enough to answer the call to serve. Our Order was built upon the principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity. Let us live them by strengthening our brotherhood, supporting our parish, and inviting others to share in our mission. May the Rosary strengthen our faith, Our Lady guide our efforts, and our service bear witness to Christ and His Church.

In Christ,
LUKE JOHN HAWRYLO

Swartz Creek Council #6694 "Baby Bottle Drive" for Pregnancy Resource Centers

Created: Jul 18, 2022
Category: General News

Submitted by: Mike Trundle, Grand Knight Swartz Creek Council #6694

Swartz Creek Council #6694 held a "Baby Bottle Drive" during the month of March for the purpose of raising money in support of local Pregnancy Resource Centers. Our council is steadfast in our belief that all life is to be valued and we are committed to doing our part in protecting those who are most vulnerable. We recognize, however, that we are only able to do these good works with the interest and participation of others. We are blessed with a very giving parish family at St. Mary Queen of Angels (Swartz Creek), and because of their generous support in addition to that of family, friends & faculty of St. Thomas More Academy (Burton, MI) we were able to raise over $5,600!

We were pleasantly surprised and extremely excited by this outcome. It proves that there are many who also share in our values and our commitment to protect life. We are most grateful for the tremendous support received and trust that it will make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.

On Monday, May 23rd, we distributed the proceeds of this initiative with a visit to both The Luke Project 52 Clinic of Flint and The Flint Pregnancy Help Clinic, presenting each a check in support of their incredible work for mothers in need. Though unable to visit, we presented a 3rd check to Heartbeat of Greater Flint as well. It was a wonderful day, very inspiring and uplifting to see all that these facilities offer and to hear the stories of their success. We hope to continue supporting their good work in years to come.
