From the desk of the Grand Knight

Dear Brother Knights,

October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, a devotion that draws us deeper into the life, suffering, death, and Resurrection of our Lord through the eyes of His Blessed Mother. As Knights, we are called not only to pray, but to allow that prayer to shape our lives. Let us renew our devotion to the Rosary, trusting Mary to lead us ever closer to her Son.

Brothers, prayer must bear fruit in our daily lives. As we meditate on the mysteries of Christ, let us examine how faithfully we serve Him in our homes, our parish, our Council, and our communities. Let us actively seek opportunities to volunteer, serve those in need, and put our faith into action. Christ calls us to “cast out into the deep” (Luke 5:4), moving beyond our comfort zones and trusting Him enough to answer the call to serve. Our Order was built upon the principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity. Let us live them by strengthening our brotherhood, supporting our parish, and inviting others to share in our mission. May the Rosary strengthen our faith, Our Lady guide our efforts, and our service bear witness to Christ and His Church.

In Christ,
LUKE JOHN HAWRYLO

M.I. "Tootsie Roll" Drive - 2026

Created: Oct 22, 2026
Category: General News

Thank You!

The Knights of Columbus Swartz Creek Council 6694 extends sincere gratitude to all Brother Knights who generously gave their time and energy to support this year's M.I. "Tootsie Roll" Drive. Their commitment to this meaningful cause continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The Council also offers heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the drive through their generosity. Parishioners, local residents, visitors, and those simply passing through the community demonstrated remarkable kindness and compassion through their donations. Every contribution, no matter the size, played an important role in the success of this year's campaign.

Once again, the Council's efforts proved highly successful. This year's drive ranks as the fourth most successful in Council history, raising more than $7,200. These funds will directly benefit several outstanding organizations dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual disabilities, including Special Olympics, Marion Crouse Instructional Center, Elmer Knopf Learning Center, Vocational Independence Program, St. Louis Center, St. Francis Camp on the Lake, and the Miracle League of Greater Flint.

Through educational programs, recreational opportunities, vocational training, and supportive services, these organizations enrich lives, foster independence, and create opportunities that help individuals reach their full potential. The generosity of those who supported the drive will have a meaningful and lasting impact on the countless individuals and families served by these programs.

The Council extends special recognition and appreciation to this year's volunteers and participants:

Robert Ashford, Dan Brcic, Dennis Cavanaugh, Randal Chancellor, Jim Chrenko, Bob Cookingham, Michael Dean, Wayne DeShano, Angelo Genovesi, Mike Good, Dennis Graham, Eva Graham, Dan Hall, Luke John Hawrylo, James Helmka, Ron Ignatowski, Mike Johnson, Ken Klungle, Linda Klungle, Michael Kopko, Bob Kranz, Jake Kranz, Ed Krebsbach, Ken Lixey, Mike Messer, Dave Moore, Tina Moore, John Pobocik, Gerald Provost, Tara Provost, Gene Richards, Thomas Roke, Paul Ruhala, Greg Sanborn, Michael Szedlak, Adam Tye, Jack Tylus, Paul Weld, Robert Weld, Lance Wildman, and John Wojciechowski.

Through their dedication, generosity, and spirit of service, these volunteers helped make this year's M.I. Drive another remarkable success. Their efforts serve as a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a community comes together in support of those most in need.
